GE MWF Filter
GE manufacturers thie GE MWF water filter and it is used for various GE, Kenmore and Hotpoint models. It should be noted that an adapter may be required for the following models: FXRC, FXRT, MXRC, HXRT, WR9710006, and the Kenmore model 46-9905. The filter is available at several retail stores which usually only stock the single pack units. Typically, you will find better pricing online and you may even be able to find free shipping. Online stores often times will offer more economic packaging choices, such as double and triple pack options. The MWR filter should be replaced every 6 months in order to receive the purest water and ice from it.
There are several benefits of using this filter. First off, it is extremely easy to replace! Even if you do not have a "handy bone" in your body! You do not need any tools to do so, in fact, to remove it, you just turn it to the left, tug gently and take it outt. To install a new one, just insert it and turn it to the right and voila, you have a fresh filter!
Since GE is the manufacturer of the filter and does not outsource the production of this product to anyone else, you can feel comfortable knowing that you are going to receive the highest of quality product, as you do with all GE products. The filter works with a large number of GE, Kenmore and Hotpoint models, which may come in handy when it comes time to replace your refrigerator. With the MWF filter, you will have much better tasting water, absolutely no smell or taste. In fact, it will even remove the taste of chlorine yet it will leave-in the valuable flouride that your teeth need to stay healthy. It will remove all dangerous impurities, is NSF tested and approved and it meets or exceeds the NSF/ANSI standard 42 requirements. You will have the convenience of fresh water without the cost or inconvenience of purchasing bottled water and having to carry it to your residence. Lastly, you will be doing your part for our environment (let's keep those plastic water bottles out of our land fills)! There are many benefits of using this filter and really only one potential drawback. As mentioned earlier, in some cases, you may need to purchase an adapter to work with it. My final recommendation is that you use the water filter as it will save you money, time, hassle and help the environment. I would also recommend that you do some shopping online for a few reasons: First, you will likely find a better price per unit, than you will in a retail store. Secondly, you will have options to purchase more than a single pack, which in most cases, will bring the per unit price down (as bulk packaging usually does). Thirdly, you will save yourself the gas and the time required to located a store that carries it and then find where it is in the store. Lastly, if you are lucky, you just might be able to find FREE shipping, which is always a nice touch and makes you feel like a savvy shopper
